Architectural Window Systems
Window systems define the thermal, acoustic and air-tightness behaviour of a building envelope long before any mechanical system is selected. Reliance sources window systems against the specification that governs the project, not against a catalogue.

What it is
A window system is the complete assembly of frame, sash, glazing, gasketry, hardware and drainage that fills a structural opening. Performance belongs to the assembly, not to any single component.
Reliance trades window systems in thermally broken aluminium and reinforced PVC, supplied by manufacturers evaluated for the destination market rather than assembled from unrelated parts.
Where it is used
- —Private residences and estates
- —Luxury multi-family and condominium developments
- —Hospitality, clubhouse and amenity architecture
- —Commercial and institutional elevations
What it resolves
Openings are the weakest thermal and air-tightness points in most envelopes. A window system resolves heat transfer, condensation risk, water management, air infiltration and structural wind load in one coordinated assembly.
Selecting the system early means the opening detail, structural tolerance and interior finish can be coordinated instead of corrected on site.
Configurations
Casement and awning
Side- and top-hung outward-opening sashes with compression sealing.
Tilt-turn
Dual-action European operation for ventilation and cleaning access from inside.
Fixed and structural glazing
Non-operable units for large spans and uninterrupted sightlines.
Specialty geometry
Arched, raked and non-rectangular openings fabricated to the architectural drawing.
Specification considerations
- —Frame material and thermal break strategy for the climate zone
- —Glazing build-up, cavity and coating selection
- —Anchoring, tolerance and interface with the surrounding construction
- —Hardware duty class relative to sash weight and cycle frequency
- —Air, water, structural and thermal criteria stated in the project specification
Standards and documentation
Requirements differ by market. Reliance reviews which standards govern the project — North American, European or local — and requests the manufacturer's supporting test documentation for the exact system being specified. No performance figure is quoted without that documentation.
How Reliance supports supply
- —Manufacturer evaluation against the specified performance criteria
- —Collection and review of technical documentation for the proposed system
- —Pre-shipment inspection coordination
- —Packing, consolidation, export documentation and delivery to port or site
